STFOC Non-Kink RadHard – 2.0 mm

Description

STFOC Non-Kink RadHard – 2.0 mm is a compact, radiation-hardened singlemode fiber optic cable designed for harsh environments where both mechanical durability and stable optical performance are critical. Built with Linden’s proprietary Non-Kink jacket design and an LCP primary strength coating, it combines flexibility with crush resistance and kink protection in a 2.0 mm (0.079″) outer diameter format. The cable is specified with attenuation of <0.45 dB/km at 1310 nm and <0.35 dB/km at 1550 nm, with optical propagation loss measurements performed 100% on all cables at both wavelengths.

For demanding aerospace, defense, and radiation-exposed applications, the RadHard version is designed to maintain optical and mechanical performance to greater than 20 MRad and is tested to ESA ESCC Basic Specification No. 2263010, NASA-STD-8739.5, and SAE AS5382. Linden also states that no carbon layer is needed, and highlights added benefits such as thermal stability, preconditioning to prevent jacket shrinkage, crush resistance, and Non-Kink performance. NASA outgassing tests listed in the catalog report <0.01% CVCM for all jacket material.

The LINDEN-SPE-7208 configuration is listed as RadHard Singlemode, 2.0 mm OD, with typical connector loss under 0.2 dB and 50 lb tensile strength. For standard Non-Kink STFOC 2.0 mm, Linden’s sheet also lists a 70 lb tensile strength test value, 3.7 kg/km weight, cable serialization for traceability, and a shipment test-data package covering propagation loss and tensile data.
